OCSO searching for man who allegedly tried to rob Eglin Federal Credit Union in Mary Esther

MARY ESTHER — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man allegedly tried to rob the Eglin Federal Credit Union on Monday afternoon.

The suspect entered the bank on Hollywood Boulevard in Mary Esther about 3:15 p.m. and gave a note to a teller demanding money, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said no weapons were displayed during the incident. The suspect was unsuccessful in getting any money and left on foot toward the back of the bank.

He is believed to be 45-55 years old and was described as “scruffy or unshaven," the OCSO reported.

He was wearing a gray or blue denim ball cap, long sleeve khaki shirt with no collar and three buttons down the front, baggy khaki pants and what appeared to be brown open-toe shoes or flip flops.
