DE PERE - An iron foundry confirmed Monday that a 24-year-old worker died from injuries sustained Aug. 5.

The C. A. Lawton Co. didn't give any additional details and said that the exact cause is still being determined by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

"Our entire team is struggling with this extremely difficult and emotional situation. As far as I can determine, there has never been a work-related fatality at The C.A. Lawton Co. in its 143-year history," said sales and marketing manager Andrew Mastalir in a news release.

The worker's name has not been released pending notification of family.

OSHA investigations can take up six months to complete, according to the OSHA Appleton area office.
