Carole Anderson Callender, 76, of Liverpool, died Sunday, July 31, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital in Syracuse.
Born and raised in Bridgeport, Conn., she was a resident of Liverpool for the past 45 years, according to her obituary. She earned a master’s degree in special education from Syracuse University and worked in education for 35 years.
She retired in 2012 from Phoenix Central School District as a special education teacher and also worked for the North Syracuse Central School District in their early education program.
She was Past Beloved Queen-Ilderim Temple No. 15 Daughters of the Nile, was a member of both St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Liverpool and more recently St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Baldwinsville. She was also a member of the Clay Senior Center, according to her obituary. She spent time on the St. Lawrence River and dedicated much of her life supporting the Shriner’s Hospital.
Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, August 12, at Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 13, in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 2840 Cold Springs Road, Baldwinsville. Contributions in Carole’s memory can be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
