A few weeks ago, a young boy's bike was stolen, but his father was able to give officers the serial number of the stolen bike, which can help the investigation.
Sergeant Silver reached out to his fellow officers and was able to raise enough money to replace the bike and buy a new bike lock as well.
The boy and his family met with the department on Sunday to receive the gifts.

BPD reminds the public the importance of knowing serial numbers because it can benefit law enforcement's investigation.
