The Hang Up's production facility parking lot in Neenah is now a U-Haul neighborhood dealership location.

KAUKAUNA – An all-in-one retail, moving and self-storage facility is coming to the Fox Cities.

U-Haul recently acquired 4.66 acres of land at 1550 Arbor Way in Kaukauna, just north of Interstate 41 next to Aurora BayCare's urgent care clinic. Here, U-Haul plans to construct a four-story building spanning more than 100,000 square feet that will offer a plethora of services. The new facility is expected to create at least 15 jobs.

“The Fox Cities include 19 communities along the Fox River, which have been underserved when it comes to quality self-storage,” said Ken Heitman, president of U-Haul Company of Northern Wisconsin and the UP. “This area is seeing significant population swells. Our expansion here is fundamental to meeting the public’s growing self-storage demands.”

U-Haul Moving & Storage of Fox Cities North, scheduled to be complete by summer 2024, will feature indoor self-storage rooms with climate-control options and high-tech security features, according to a news release. On the retail side, the facility will have a large showroom and offer products such as moving supplies and boxes, portable storage containers and towing equipment. Services such as truck and trailer sharing will also be available, the release said.

“Growing our storage footprint in northeastern Wisconsin is important and we look forward to working closely with our neighbors and the City of Kaukauna,” Heitman said.

It’ll be U-Haul’s first moving and storage facility in the Fox Cities. U-Haul has three such facilities in the Green Bay area as well as two in Oshkosh. The Kaukauna facility will be U-Haul’s 44th store of this type in Wisconsin.

U-Haul’s moving and storage facilities are in addition to their vast network of U-Haul “Neighborhood Dealers,” which are businesses like gas stations and self-storage facilities that partner with U-Haul to offer services such as truck and trailer rentals.
