NODAWAY COUNTY—A Missouri teen was injured in an accident just after 5p.m. Monday in Nodaway County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Chevy passenger vehicle driven by a 15-year-old girl from Hopkins was northbound on Katydid Road two miles north of Hopkins.
The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck a tree. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle returned to the road, traveled off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.
A private vehicle transported the teen to Mosaic in Maryville. She was then transferred to Children's Mercy. The teen was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
