Grand opening for Camp Pet-o-sega Disc Golf Course set for Wednesday

ALANSON — The Emmet County Parks and Recreation will host a grand opening ceremony at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10 for the Camp Pet-o-sega Disc Golf Course.

The course is located at Camp Pet-o-sega Camp Grounds, 11000 Camp Petosega Road in Alanson. The ribbon cutting will take place on Hole 1 adjacent to the hangar.

The 18-hole disc golf course features paved tee pads and multiple basket locations to allow for a variety of playing experiences. Officials said beginner or advanced and everyone in between will enjoy this course, which is set in a figure-eight layout for easy access to the front and back nine holes.

The course is open year round from 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. and is free to play. Hole map and description signs are posted at each hole. Golf rules, course maps, and scorecards are available at the course's entrance and parking area. Discs are available for purchase in the Camp Store.
