Earlier this summer, the Portland Jetport closed its runway for a major reconstruction project.
It disrupted flight patterns across several communities while they used a backup runway, but most of that work has been completed.
Reggie asked the CBS113 I-Team:
"Why are there still flights going over my home in Westbrook? Weren't they supposed to have the main runway up and running after construction? We are quite concerned that they are planning on keeping us in the flight path."
Reggie says his home is on the north side of Westbrook and says he saw an increase in flights over his house when the backup runway was being used.
While he's right that construction has mostly ended on the main runway and flights should be back to their normal patterns, the Jetport told the CBS13 I-Team some flights are still using the other runway during different circumstances.
The Jetport wrote in a statement:
"We have had periodic closures of the primary runway during the overnights to finish grooving and marking the runway. we know a few flights that were operating on delays have used the north south runway during the overnight the past few weeks as we've wrapped up the closeout of the runway rehabilitation project."
The runway work should reportedly be finished soon, but overall, there have no changed to the flight pattern.
The Jetport says it often sees more noise complaints this time of year because of increases in plane traffic and more people have their doors and windows open.
