Athens-Clarke County Police are investigating a shooting: police say a 25 year-old man was shot on Fourth Street and taken to an Athens hospital for treatment of what were described as non life-threatening injuries. Police were, at last report, trying to track down a suspect.

On August 5, 2022, at approximately 11:39PM, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to the 500 block of Fourth Street regarding reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year[1]old male that had been shot. The individual that was shot was transported by EMS to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
