UPDATE: The Silver Alert has been canceled. The teen returned home safely, police said.
ELKHART, Ind. — A Statewide Silver Alert has been declared.
The Elkhart Police Department is investigating the disappearance of a 15-year-old Black female. She’s 5 feet 5 inches tall, 240 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a red shirt with white lettering, black shorts, and carrying a brown jacket.
The teen is missing from Elkhart, Indiana which is 163 miles north of Indianapolis and was last seen on Monday, August 8, at 11:56 p.m. She is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
