Women’s Legacy Fund plans educational meeting

The Women’s Legacy Fund of Montgomery County will have its annual educational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 29 in meeting rooms A & B of the Crawfordsville District Public Library. This meeting is free and open to any interested person.

The Women’s Legacy Fund is dedicated to funding innovative ways to improve the lives of women and children in Montgomery County. Each year, an educational meeting is held covering a topic of concern in our county. At this meeting, representatives from Achaius Ranch, the CASA program of the Youth Service Bureau and Dusk to Dawn Bereavement Services will talk to attendees on the topic of Trauma and Treatment: Children and Youth in Montgomery County.

Since 2008, the Women’s Legacy Fund has awarded grants to Montgomery County programs serving women and children. In 2022, grants have been give to Crawfordsville Adult Resource Academy to support women working towards their high school equivalency, to New Market Elementary for their greenhouse project, to Healthy Families for Operation Brain Building, to Valley Professionals Community Health for their Theraplay program, to Rainbows and Rhymes and Crawfordsville Park and Rec for their summer programming for children, to Dusk to Dawn Bereavement Services for their Mindfulness and Movement initiative and to Volunteers for Mental Health in Montgomery County to offer a Mental Health First Aid workshop for Montgomery County educators.
