WESTLAKE, Ohio (WJW) – Firefighters responded to a house fire that broke out amid storms in Westlake Monday night.

The fire happened at a home on Cornerstone, just after 8 p.m.

Residents believe the fire started after the chimney was struck by lightning.

Public records show the home used to belong to former Cavs player Kyrie Irving. He sold the house in 2018 for $755,000.

When the Westlake Fire Department arrived, officials say heavy smoke and fire could be seen coming from the attic space of the large house.

Video captured from the scene shows flames shooting up from the top of the home, while another shows firefighters extinguishing the fire.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

The official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
