It began Sunday morning near 45th and Arkansas, when a man damaged a pair of cars, belonging to relatives, with an ax, and rode away on a motorcycle before officers arrived.

The suspect, identified as Travis Davis, 38, was located at a home in the 400 block of W. 45th, where he had threatened additional family members with a handgun, and damaged two more vehicles with an ax, before barricading himself in an outbuilding.

As police worked to negotiate with Davis, he was shown in a body cam video threating officers with a gun and firing at officers behind a S.W.A.T. vehicle.  Davis was then shot one time by an officer attempting to keep him from harming other officers.

Davis was transported to an area hospital, where he is being treated He will be booked into jail once he's released.

Two hand guns were recovered.  The officer who fired the shot per standard policy, is on paid administrative leave, pending an investigation by the KBI.
