MASON — Six "Jurassic Park" movies in, and dinosaur handlers still haven't learned that the reptiles can't be kept in a cage.

That won't be an issue in October.

If you want to see some (simulated) dinosaurs up close and personal — in an environment where they're certain not to break free — Jurassic Quest is bringing them to Mason in October.

Jurassic Quest, a traveling show featuring life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs, rides and activities, will be at the Ingham County Fairgrounds Oct. 14-16. Tickets are now on sale on the show's website.

According to the website, Jurassic Quest is the "biggest dinosaur show in all the land." The Mason event will feature a 50-foot robotic megalodon, a 60-foot Spinosaurus, an 80-foot Apatosaurus and a massive Tyrannosaurus rex.

Attendees can also ride some of the smaller walking and stationary dinosaurs, hold baby dinosaurs, check out informative exhibits, dig for fossils and more.

"You're gonna need a bigger weekend. Our world-famous, life-size dinosaurs are meticulously painted and animated to be realer-than-real," the website says. "Whether you're 3 or 103, this is a one-of-a-kind experience you'll never forget."

A mother and child are wowed at the site of the Giganotosaurus at Jurassic Quest.

Strollers and cameras are allowed. According to a Facebook post, children must wear socks in order to play on the inflatables.
