Manchester Community Fair offers events for everyone

Manchester Community Fair, "Michigan's Biggest Little Fair."

Manchester's 77th annual Community Fair is this week and everyone in the family can enjoy the events that are offered this year! There are plenty of traditional events as well as newer events that have become popular in recent years. Don't miss out on the fun.

Daily admission to the fair is $7 per person, with children 5 and under free. A season pass is $30. Senior Citizens (62 and over) are admitted free on Thursday until 5pm, and admission is $5 from 9am-3pm on Saturday.

On Monday, entries for the exhibit building are being accepted from 2-8pm. For more information about fair entries, see the fair book.

Fair fun begins in earnest on Tuesday, with Compact Tractor Pulls starting at 9am; Classic Tractor pulls at 11am; and Antique Tractor pulls at 5pm. Carnival rides start at 5pm, and the parade is at 6:30pm (line up on Duncan Street east of Wolverine starting at 6:10pm). The Queen Contest immediately follows the parade and steer judging will take place at the conclusion of the queen contest.

On Wednesday, August 10, Carnival rides open at 3pm. Kids Power Wheels Derby for kids 3-10 years of age will be at 7pm, and will continue Friday and Saturday. See the Fair Book for details. Lamb judging will take place at 6pm and Swine judging at 7:30pm. The highlight of the evening will be the Demolition Derby, presented by International Demolition Derby, begins at 7pm.

Thursday evening's exciting events include Drag Racing presented by KOI Drag Racing at 7pm and the animal auction at 7:30pm. Carnival rides start at 3pm Thursday afternoon.

Friday is Toddler Day, especially for children ages 6 and under, from 1-3pm. The fun "touch-a-truck" event will be from 2-5pm, and carnival rides will open at 3 pm. Kids' Power Wheels Derby is at 7 again tonight. Friday Night's highlight is Lost Nations Rodeo starting at 7pm. And if you're looking for a fun night of cards with friends, check out the MACC Euchre tournament under the pavilion starting at 8pm.

On Saturday, the grand finale day of the fair, carnival rides start at 1pm. Ladies Day activities will be held at the Pavilion from 10am to noon. Pedal pull is at 4pm, with registration beginning at 3pm. Look for the Family AG-tivity area at 3pm presented by Washtenaw County Farm Bureau, and the kids' drawing will be held at 5pm. The Power Wheels Derby will wrap up at 7pm tonight. In the arena Saturday evening, you'll find Side by Side and Pit Bike Racing starting at 7pm and continuing ... until they're done.
