A man faces murder charges after deputies say he killed a man at a Richland County convenience store.

They tell us it all started with an argument.
Friends of Fonville and leaders in this community, tell WACH FOX News this deadly cycle is getting exhausting.
“We love people, we want to see people be successful we want everyone to have a space where they can earn an honest living and not have to live in fear of their lives," expressed Javar Juarez, Broad River Business Alliance.
Juarez echoed the communities voice for change after a heated exchange at the CK Mart on Broad River Road ended in death.
According to the report, Byron Lewie and Savion Fonville were arguing about a claim that Fonville had previously broken into Lewie’s vehicle.
Shortly before 5 pm Sunday, Lewie tells deputies Fonville reached for his waistband to retrieve a weapon, so he fired in self-defense, killing Fonville.
Fonville’s friends tell me he was a local music artist and leaves behind a son and grieving family.
It’s just crazy to see somebody like that with a great spirit like that and a good heart, in life we all go through stuff we all make mistakes but for something like that to happen to somebody, it’s crazy.
Fonville's death marks the fourth deadly shooting in the Broad River Road area, this year.

Juarez says if state legislators poured adequate resources into these communities - that would help break the deadly chain,
There’s a lot of love over here but we can’t seem to get that same kind of love that we have for each other from the state house, we shouldn’t have to beg people that from people we put in office.
WACH FOX News reached out to Councilman Paul Livingston who represents the Broad River Road area for a response to the violence.
As of now, we have not heard back.
