Nicole Linton, 37, was charged with six counts of murder and five counts of gross vehicular manslaughter, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said. If convicted, she faces up to 90 years to life in prison.

It was also revealed during the press conference that preliminary investigations indicated Linton may have been traveling up to 90 miles per hour. Gascón said there was currently no evidence that Linton was under the influence at the time of the crash.

Linton, who was hospitalized for injuries she sustained in the collision, was released over the weekend. She was arrested Friday for vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, a CHP official told KNX News. She was identified as a registered traveling nurse from Texas and working in Los Angeles.

According to City News Service, she was working at an intensive care unit at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center. Kaiser Permanente released a statement, saying, “Everyone at Kaiser Permanente is deeply saddened by Thursday's horrific crash. It's impossible to imagine the pain those involved are experiencing. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy. At this time, we are not able to comment on what has been reported as a criminal investigation."

Her bail is currently at $9 million.

Video circulating around social media showed the Mercedes driven by Linton speeding through a red light and into a busy intersection, striking another car before both cars erupt into flames. Several other cars were also hit during the collision.

Asherey Ryan, her boyfriend, the couple’s 11 month old, and her unborn child were killed in the crash. Her family said she was on her way to a doctor’s appointment prior to the collision.

A GoFundMe for Ryan's family was established and has raised over $145,000.

CHP said eight cars, including Linton’s, were involved in the crash. Eight people were injured.

Gascón said the cases were set to be filed after the press conference.

The investigation is ongoing.
