Obituary: Mary Adaline Smith

Mary Adaline Smith, 83, of Grubbs departed this life on Sunday, August 7, 2022.  She was born April 27, 1939, to William Isaac and Mary Lou (Wingo) Ball.

Mary attended the Grubbs Church of Christ.  She loved having her family together for holiday dinners. She also loved working in the yard in her flowers and her garden. She entertained herself by reading and doing word search puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer Smith; her brother, Jerry Wayne Ball; her sisters, Pearl Butler, Lena Mae Sovoleski, Jean Tramper and Dorothy Rose; her son-in-law, Stephen Rennels; and her grandson, Joel Hernandez.

She is survived by her son, Marcus Wayne Smith of Gobles, Michigan; her daughters, Dorothy Lou Reynolds of Forrest City, Jeannie Marie Hernandez (Joel) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; brother, Jimmy Ball (Norma) of Shreveport, Louisiana; sisters, Joan Crain of Grubbs, Billie Crain of Jonesboro and Martha Burgess of Schenectady, New York; grandchildren, Roy Walls, Jason Walls, Michael Sutton, Jessica Brundage, Justin Hernandez, Liz Hernandez, Janie Walls, Benjamin Runnels, Nicholas Runnels and Bonnie Combs and special friend, Gene Smith.

Service will be graveside at Ballew’s Chapel Cemetery on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
