Reese Witherspoon Shares Snap With Son Deacon Phillippe Before "Never Have I Ever" Debut

Reese Witherspoon is enjoying special moments with her 18-year-old son, Deacon Phillippe. "This hug made my whole year," the "Legally Blonde" star wrote alongside an Instagram photo embracing the teen on Aug. 7.

"Miss you so much," Deacon wrote in the comments. His sister — Witherspoon's daughter, Ava Phillippe — also commented, writing, "love this, love you two ❤️."

Deacon, who recently graduated high school, will appear on screen for the first time in the third season of "Never Have I Ever" on Aug. 12. He will play a new character named Parker, who is a rival debate team member from a private school. The next season of the teen comedy will follow central characters Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and Paxton (Darren Barnet)'s new relationship.

Deacon is Witherspoon's second eldest child; her first, Ava Elizabeth Phillippe, was born in 1999. Witherspoon shares both Deacon and Ava with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe. Her third child, Tennessee James Toth, was born in 2012, and is the only child she shares with husband Jim Toth.

Acting isn't Deacon's only artistic talent. In an Aug. 3 interview, his father told Entertainment Tonight that his son is focusing on music. "I am so proud. He's about to go to college for music," the elder Phillippe said. "That's his primary focus. The acting thing he likes to do, and he will do according to what his appetite for it is, but his focus is primarily music." He went on to plug his son's music projects. "He's actually dropping a mixtape this Friday on SoundCloud. It's incredible," he said. "I'm so excited for people to hear. It's really good stuff. I'm super proud."
