COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) — A tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 95 South caused major delays for drivers in Colonial Heights.
The crash was located near the Southpark Boulevard exit. According to VDOT, the right lane, right shoulder and exit ramp on I-95 southbound were all closed.
VDOT has reported that there is currently a 4.5-mile-long backup. Drivers were encouraged to use Interstate 295 as an alternate route and expect delays through the evening rush.
At around 7:30 p.m., VDOT reported that there was no longer a backup but the right lane remained closed.
Shortly after 8:45 p.m., VDOT reported that all lanes had been opened, including the exit ramp.
