SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – Authorities in the Tahoe area are pleading for anyone with information regarding a teenager's weekend disappearance to come forward as investigators treat it as an abduction.

"We know that out of the 200-300 teenagers and young adults that were at Prosser (Family) Campground that evening, somebody has to know something about where Kiely is," Placer County Sheriff's Department Spokesperson Angela Musallam told KCBS Radio's Jennifer Hodges.

Kiely Rodni, 16, was last seen at a party of 200-300 "juveniles and young adults" at the campground just off State Route 89 in Truckee.

The gathering was initially estimated to be roughly 100 people.

She "communicated" shortly after midnight (early Saturday) she was "going home," Musallam explained. Investigators have learned Rodni also "verbally communicated to her friends that she was wanting to go home" at that time.

Witness last reported seeing Rodni at about 12:30 a.m.

"Shortly after she communicated that she wanted to go home, her phone was virtually unreachable and has been unreachable since then," Musallam said.

Authorities from multiple agencies began looking for Rodni on Saturday morning, using ground crews and helicopters in the area. "We have not, so far, been able to locate Kiely or her vehicle, which is why we are treating this case as an abduction," Musallam added. "That is solely because we cannot locate her vehicle."

The vehicle is a silver 2013 Honda CRV with California license plate 8YUR127.

Authorities said in a Facebook post on Monday afternoon that helicopter searches are concentrating on the area "over the Interstate 80 corridor between Donner Summit and the Nevada state line, and will continue searching around the Prosser Lake area."

Rodni is described as a white female, 5-foot-7, 115 pounds with blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing green Dickies pants and a black tank top. She has numerous piercings, jewelry and a nose ring.

The girl's mother, Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, pleaded for help in a video posted to social media late Sunday. "We just want her home," she said. "We're so scared. We miss her so much and we love her so much."

Officials urged they're only seeking information about Rodni's disappearance at this time. "We are not interested in arrested anybody for underage drinking or the consumption of drugs that may have happened at that party," Musallam said. "We are just interested and needing to know where is Kylie and where is her vehicle. That is our main priority right now."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Placer County Sheriff's Department at 530-581-6320 or 530-886-5375. The agency is assisting the Nevada County Sheriff's Department in the search for Rodni.
