Y&R alum Jason Canela and wife Janaina Are Expecting Their First Child!

Please join us in congratulating THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Jason Canela (ex-Arturo) and his wife, Janaina, as they prepare to welcome their first child together! The happy couple announced the news with an amusing series of photos on Instagram where the expectant mom-to-be is holding up a pair of pregnancy tests while the dad-to-be is looking at them in shock!

“It’s official,” Janaina declared. “I’ve peed on about 24 of these things and it looks like our little baby Canela will be joining the party early 2023. We already love you so much and feel so blessed to be your parents, our sweet little one. Thank you, God, for this blessing!”

Naturally, the comments on her Instagram post filled up with comments from friends and former Y&R co-stars. Canela’s TV brother, Jordi Vilasuso (ex-Rey) posted four shocked face emojis followed by four raised hands emojis. His Y&R love interest, Melissa Ordway (Abby), cheered: “Yayyyyy!!!! Congratulations!”

Y&R fans will remember Canela for his run as Arturo Rosales from February 2018 until March 2019. Although he did make a couple of additional appearances in 2019, and 2020, the actor also enjoyed a recurring role on primetime series THE ROOKIE and will be playing Eddie in the upcoming Apple TV+ series MRS. AMERICAN PIE alongside stars like Laura Dern, Allison Janney, and Ricky Martin. In early 2022, he also hit the stage playing Gloria Estefan’s husband, Emilio, in the musical On Your Feet! during a production in Florida.

Canela popped the question back in January 2020, and tied the knot just a couple of months later on March 11. Now the happy couple is expanding their family by one!
