WESTLAKE, Ohio -- Yes, it’s just August. But Santa apparently has to start working now in order to make sure that Christmas runs on schedule, what with the Grinch trying to disrupt things and all.
Crocker Park has announced that its annual Christmas tree lighting will be Nov. 19. This year’s theme will be “A Grinchmas Party with Santa,” featuring a cast of characters bringing holiday cheer, according to a Crocker Park news release.
Marketing and Communications Manager Christina LoGrasso noted that the ceremony to light a 50-foot-tall tree is supported by Magnificat and St. Edward high schools.
There will be dancing to holiday songs, then “a whole cast of favorite holiday characters will take the stage at 7 p.m. to perform an hour-long ‘Grinchmas’ show and will then welcome Santa to help light the tree,” LoGrasso said.
Prior to the show, holiday attractions will open at noon, featuring the Real-Ice Skating Rink, Santa’s Village & Gift Shop, a holiday market with local vendors and a “selfie station” on Santa’s sleigh.
“Our signature holiday tree lighting in the heart of Crocker Park is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season,” said Stacie Schmidt, vice president of marketing at Crocker Park.
“We are thrilled to be the official home of the Grinchmas Show this holiday season. It will be a truly fun way to celebrate the holidays.”
In addition to seeing the Grinchmas Show at the tree lighting, visitors can also catch it every Sunday on the East Park Stage, beginning Nov. 20.
Some other attractions for Christmas 2022 at Crocker Park will include the holiday express train, the walk-through ornament and the snowflake garden.
