Woman arrested in fatal shooting in Coachella

A 37-year-old woman was arrested in the fatal shooting of a man in Coachella over the weekend.

Cindy Gicela Parra was booked into jail Sunday night on suspicion of murder, according to inmate records.

At about 4:50 a.m. that day, deputies got a report of a shooting in the 84000 block of Fiesta Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

They found an adult male with gunshot wounds, who was later pronounced dead. His name was not disclosed while deputies sought to notify his family.

Homicide investigators detained Parra as the suspect, Sgt. Richard Carroll wrote in a press release.

She was being held at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on $1 million bail.
