MITCHELL — Luke Tiesler tossed a complete game in 141 pitches as the Mount Vernon Mustangs eliminated the Milbank Firechiefs 3-2 on Sunday night in the second round of the South Dakota Amateur Baseball Class B Tournament.

Tiesler allowed just four hits in 9.0 IP with four strikeouts and five walks.

The Mustangs scored in the bottom of the eighth inning when Koby Larsen knocked a one out single to break a four-inning hit drought for both teams. With two outs, Chase Hetlund drove Larson in on an 0-1 single that just got through the infield and into right field.

Dom Boerger struck out nine batters in a row and 17 total in a complete-game loss for the Firechiefs lefty. Boerger struck out a total of 37 batters in his two starts at the 2022 SDABA Class B Tournament.

Spencer Neugebauer picked up two hits and scored the first two runs for the Mustangs. Neugebauer singled and scored in the first inning and then tripled and scored in the third.

Mount Vernon moves on to play Garretson at Cadwell Park on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
