The Central A&M students killed in a crash last month are being honored in Assumption.
A new resolution was approved on Wednesday to proclaim December 25 as Keegan Virden Day and April 27 as Conner Rowcliff Day.
Rowcliff and Virden died on July 12 in a crash at the intersection of US 51 and Leafland Street in Assumption.
The teens were on their way to weight-lifting for Central A&M at the time of the crash.
Two other students were in the vehicle and were seriously injured.
Kingsley Heinemann, 14, and Damien Smith, 14, are now recovering at home.
Assumption Mayor Derek Page says days of remembrance on Keegan's and Connor's birthday will serve as a reminder of the positivity and joy they brought to their families, friends, and this community.
Conner Rowcliff Day will serve as a day to volunteer or take a positive action in the community.
Keegan Virden Day falls on Christmas Day. Mayor Page says it will be used as a day of remembrance and sharing, as Keegan shared his organs with those in need.
