Northwest Florida high school athletic director, football coach killed in boating accident

VERNON, Fla. -- A Northwest Florida high school athletic director and football coach died in a boating accident.

The accident reportedly happened over the weekend in Bay County. Authorities confirm Trey Pike's body was recovered.
The Coast Guard says an off-duty Panama City Fire boat discovered Pike’s 21 center console boat still running. The boat had run into a cement power line tower in North Bay.
Pike was the only victim involved.
The crash is still under investigation.

Pike was just recently named as the new head football coach of the Vernon Yellow Jackets in Washington County.
