Tulsa man identified, killed in third carjacking of the day

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police identified David Getsinger as the man killed during a confrontation over a stolen car on Saturday.

Police say 32-year-old Getsinger and 43-year-old Dustin Leleux stole more than one car Aug. 6. The first at 7:15 a.m. when an owner left his keys in his truck as he ran inside a donut shop near 61st and Sheridan.

Officers say a couple hours later, around 11 a.m., they were flagged down near 21st and I-244 for a carjacking. Witnesses say two men attacked a man working on a construction site and stole his truck.

TPD says that truck was abandoned near 14th and Riverside in midtown Tulsa, before they pair stole yet another car.

Tulsa police say Leleux was involved in three carjackings before his partner was stabbed to death by one of the car owners.

The owner of the vehicle told officers he saw Getsinger and Leleux driving his truck, followed them and tried to confront them near South Peoria Avenue and Riverside.

Police said Getsinger pulled a knife on the car theft victim. The victim wrestled it away from Getsinger and stabbed him with it, which led to Getsinger’s death.

Tulsa police said Leleux was arrested and charged with second-degree felony murder, robbery and larceny. The car theft victim was not charged, and the investigation is ongoing.
