NEWTON-JOHN WAS 73 YEARS OLD. HERE IN THE PIEDMONT TRIAD OF AN ACCUSED OF SHOOTING AND KILLING A CO-WORKER AT A KERNERSVILLE MANUFACTURING PLANT LAST WEEK MADE HIS FIRST COURT APPEARANCE TODAY. DYRUS. RAINER IS FACING A NUMBER OF CHARGES IN THE DEATH OF ERIC BAILEY. LET’S GO TO FORD HATCHET. HE JOINS US LIVE THIS AFTERNOON AND WORD YOU WERE IN COURT TODAY. HOW DID THINGS SHAKE OUT? YEAH. HEY, GOOD AFTERNOON, KENNY. WE WERE DOWN IN COURT JUST BEFORE 11 O’CLOCK WHEN 29 YEAR OLD DIREIS RAINER MADE HIS FIRST APPEARANCE SINCE BEING APPREHENDED TODAY APPEARING ON A MONITOR FROM JAIL. RAINER IS CHARGED WITH THREE DIFFERENT COUNTS IN THE DEATH OF HIS CO-WORKER THE MOST SERIOUS OF WHICH IS A FELONY VOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE CARRYING UP TO 17 YEARS BEHIND BARS. HE’S ALSO CHARGED WITH A COUPLE OF GUN CHARGES FOR CARRYING AND FIRING THAT WEAPON IN PUBLIC IF OF THOSE YOU CAN TACK ON AN ADDITIONAL FIVE YEARS ONTO HIS SENTENCE LAST TUESDAY FORSYTH COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO CLARIOS AFTER REPORTS OF A SHOOTING THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE LATER REVEALING TWO EMPLOYEES HAD GOTTEN INTO AN ARGUMENT INVESTIGATORS SAY RAINER THEN PULLED OUT A GUN AND SHOT ERIC BAILEY BAILEY’S FAMILY TELLS US HE WAS A VERY FUNNY AND CARING MAN. HE SHARED A 10 YEAR OLD SON WITH MICHELLE MYERS WHO SAYS SHE DOESN’T WANT TO WISH ANY ILL WILL ON THE SUSPECT. BUT I WOULD HOPE HE WOULD HAVE HAD SOME TYPE OF. FOR THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS ACTIONS AND FOR HIS ACTIONS, YOU KNOW SOME TYPE OF REMORSE OR SOME TYPE OF YOU KNOW, FEELING BEHIND WHAT HE’S DONE. I’M AS FAR AS THAT, BUT JUST AGAIN, YOU KNOW THIS AFFECTED MY CHILD LIKE MY CHILD DID NOT DESERVE THIS. MY FAMILY DIDN’T DESERVE THIS. NONE OF US. HAVE RESERVE TO FEEL THE THE PAIN THAT WE FEEL NOW IN THE DAYS TO COME. AND RAINER DIDN’T SAY MUCH IN HIS APPEARANCE TODAY, BUT HE DID ASK FOR A SCHEDULE TO APPEAR IN COURT ABOUT TWO AND A HALF WEEKS ON

An arrest has been made in the fatal shooting between coworkers at the Clarios Manufacturing Facility in Kernersville. On Aug. 2, after 11 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the facility on Powering Progress Drive.There, a man, identified by family as Erik Bailey, was found suffering from a single gunshot wound.Deputies began life-saving measures, but the shooting victim died.The business was then put on lockdown and the building was secured.An investigation revealed that two employees got into an argument and one then shot and killed the other.The two employees knew each other and deputies believe this was not a random act and presented no danger to the community.Diarus Mark Raynor, 29, was arrested and charged with this shooting.Raynor was charged with the following:Felony voluntary manslaughterFelony discharging a firearm within an enclosure to incite fearMisdemeanor carrying concealed weaponsHe was issued a $500,000 bond and was confined at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center. “As always, our condolences are with the family. It is truly a sad moment when we lose any member of our community. Our hope and prayer are that one day we do not have to give condolences as frequently as we are giving them. Again, our prayers are with the family and our community," Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough, Jr. said.

On Aug. 2, after 11 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the facility on Powering Progress Drive.

There, a man, identified by family as Erik Bailey, was found suffering from a single gunshot wound.

Deputies began life-saving measures, but the shooting victim died.

The business was then put on lockdown and the building was secured.

  • Misdemeanor carrying concealed weapons

He was issued a $500,000 bond and was confined at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center.
