Softball Ranked 12th Nationally In Team GPA

16 softball student-athletes earn NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University softball squad ranked 12th nationally out of 283 (top four percent) NCAA Division II softball programs with a 3.686 team GPA for the 2021-22 academic year.

In addition, sixteen (16) members of the squad received Easton NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete recognition for recording at least a 3.50 GPA for the Fall 2021 and Winter 2022 semesters combined.

"The coaching staff is so proud of our team's academic success this past season," remarked head coach Nicole Tines. "Our players pride themselves on academic achievement, so this accomplishment is very well deserved! Academics is one of the pillars to strive for here within the department at WSU and our team is consistently near the top. With how challenging our University is academically, this accomplishment is truly a testament to our players work ethic in the classroom and on the field!"
