UPDATE - The crash is now being investigated as a hit-and-run.

A white car was involved in a crash that broke a power pole on Feather River Boulevard in front of the business called "Fastenal Fulfillment Center."

An initial investigation shows that the white car was driving north on Feather River Boulevard and hit a power pole, causing it to snap off.

That collision forced powerlines to come down and cause a huge outage early Monday morning, with roughly 1,700 customers losing power.

Not only did power go off for PG&E customers, but a small fire sparked after the powerlines came down. Cal Fire quickly knocked it down.

Witnesses told Oroville police that a man was seen driving the white car and ran away after the collision happened.

Currently, officers are doing what they can to locate the individual by running the license plate number and seeing who it's registered to. They are also going to ask nearby businesses if they have any surveillance video to find out if footage captured a snapshot of the driver.

Feather River Boulevard was blocked off for roughly two hours but one way traffic control was in place after 6:30 a.m.

There have been no reports of injuries.
