Norton physical therapist turns side gig into booming cookie business
A new small business is winning over Louisville hearts (and stomachs) one cookie at a time.
Lizzie Kelly is the baker and owner behind Tin Lizzie Baked Goods.
She grew up in Louisville attending Sacred Heart and Bellarmine.
You can find her buttercream frosted sugar cookies in all shapes, sizes and colors at Paul's Fruit Market locations and Café Commons in Norton Commons.
She offers custom iced cookies starting at $25 per dozen, chocolate chip cookies, M&M's, ultimate cookies and more.

Kelly has her doctorate in physical therapy and has said for years she is a physical therapist by day and baker by night, because that is exactly how it all started.
Four years ago, when Kelly was knee-deep in graduate school, she found baking to be her outlet to step away from the books.
After filling orders for close family and friends while working for Norton Healthcare, word of mouth and social media brought her to where she is today.
Kelly is passionate about baking and hopes to one day have a brick-and-mortar store.
That's originally where the name Tin Lizzie Baked Goods came from. Kelly said she always dreamed of selling her cookies out of tins at her own store one day.
For now, the boxes are paper, but she has hope the tins are right around the corner.
WLKY's Alex Durham learned more about these sweet treats and got a behind-the-scenes look at how they're made. Watch below.
