No one was hurt when an alleged drunk driver drove into a Scottsville home - and through the living room - before coming out the other side.
Just before 1:30 a.m. Monday, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office says Randy Bratcher Jr., 34, struck the north side of a Rochester Street home.
After exiting the other side, it hit David Domina's home next door.
He and his wife were asleep in bed when they were suddenly awakened by a loud noise.
"I thought my daughter had fallen down the stairs or a piece of furniture had fell over," he said. "I woke up and went out in the hallway and my daughter said somebody had just hit the house."
Frantic, Domina ran outside to see if everyone was okay and to check on his neighbors.
"This room right there was her bedroom, the mother's bedroom, and she was sleeping in the bed and somehow no glass ended up on her. She was completely fine. No scratches. The kids are on the second floor above all of this happening, sleeping," Domina said.
He said he also wanted to make sure the driver stay at the scene.
“He didn’t seem to be in his right mind," Domina said. "He was super apologetic. I made sure that he was ok."
The home is unlivable until it can be further evaluated. The residents are staying with family.
"It is pretty miraculous. It was definitely divine intervention. The driver in the truck and no one in our home or their home was injured so, I mean, it is just quite miraculous."
