Geneva football season preview 2022

GENEVA COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — After the COVID-19 season of 2020, last season played a better tune for the black and gold of Geneva.

The scarcity of numbers on the gridiron haunts head coach Les Sanders again in 2022. That’s why he says the key for this year’s team is to simply stay healthy.

“First thing we got to do is stay healthy,” Sanders said. “We lost two of our two-way starters last year in the first game and so you just got to go play, but the biggest thing stay healthy.”

That may be the key to the house, but the key to the garage lies with Michael Moore. The now junior got hurt early on last season, having him back healthier than ever will help this team dramatically.

“We really like it, he’s really greedy, tough. He will also start a lot on defense; he’s a kid when the lights come on, he’s a competitor, he’s a leader and he’s a winner.

The Panthers kick off their season at home against Headland on Aug. 19.
