A woman was killed after a crash involving three vehicles on Highway 68 Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.The crash happened just before 9 a.m. west of Laureles Grade.According to CHP, the driver of a Ford minivan was traveling westbound when she intentionally rear-ended a Lexus and then a Ford transit van.Officers said the minivan driver then lost control and crossed over the eastbound lanes before ending up along trees down an embankment.The driver of the minivan died from the injuries sustained in the crash. Investigators said the drivers of the two other vehicles suffered minor injuries.The highway patrol does not know if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the cause of the crash. The identity of the minivan driver will be released by the Monterey County Sheriff's Office once the woman's next of kin is notified. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the California Highway Patrol Monterey Area Office.
