Benjamin standout receiver Micah Mays is "1,000 percent committed" to Wake Forest as of a Sunday afternoon Twitter announcement.

The three-star announced his commitment to the Demon Deacons with a video thanking God, his family, teammates, coaches, and teachers.

In the self-edited video, Mays sheds his Bucs football pullover to reveal a Wake Forest t-shirt, giving fans a preview of the hands they'll receive next fall with a clutch grab of a cap.

Throwing up a 'W' with his hands, Mays gave a "Go Deacons!"

Following the Bucs' 8-4 run to Class 3A region finals versus Lakeland Christian, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound Mays' recruitment boomed, allotting him approximately 40 offers to sift through ahead of his Wake commitment.

With 42 catches for 725 yards – long of 73 – and seven touchdowns, Mays enjoyed offseason offers from App State, Arkansas State, Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Louisville, N.C. State, Penn State, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and more.

Back in January, Mays said he was on the Demon Deacons' radar before his junior year began, the pair's relationship starting with a follow from the program's recruiting account.

Benjamin's Micah Mays reaches up to make a play on a high-thrown ball during the second quarter of a 55-24 regional semifinals win over First Academy on Nov. 19, 2021.

Mays' film from the 2021 season and ability to "showcase" himself were just icing on the cake for Wake.

Two visits to Winston-Salem and a look at the depth chart over the next few years sealed the deal according to Benjamin's receiving yards leader. A three-time state champion as of May, the Post's boys track and field athlete of the year Mays also toured Iowa State for track and field in addition to football.

While a big season is likely bring more offers for Mays, few other programs offer first string Palm Beach County talent for young players like himself to learn from.

At Wake, Mays could have the opportunity to train and continue to the local pipeline with Park Vista alum A.T. Perry, a redshirt junior reeling off a breakout 2021, setting the school record with 15 touchdown receptions to earn Biletnikoff Semifinalist and First Team All-ACC honors.
