Woman who died in single-vehicle accident on West Monroe Street Friday is identified

A Springfield woman killed in a single-vehicle accident in the 800 block of West Monroe Street early Friday morning has been identified.

Elyse Nichole Davis, 30, died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash, according to Sangamon County coroner Jim Allmon.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:25 a.m. Friday.

Springfield police were called to the scene just after 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Davis' visitation and funeral service will be held at Union Baptist Church in Springfield on Aug. 16.

The case under investigation by Springfield Police and the coroner's office.
