Primghar, IA (KICD)– One person was killed and another injured in a weekend crash just outside of Primghar.
The Iowa State Patrol and O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office were called to the intersection of Taft Avenue and 390th Street, about three miles east of town, just before two o’clock Saturday afternoon
A preliminary investigation determined a pickup driven by 56-year-old Laurie Banks of Sutherland failed to stop while northbound leading to the collision with a westbound SUV driven by 66-year-old Mark Kirkholm of Storm Lake.
The SUV is said to have entered the ditch and rolled at least once partially ejecting Kirkholm who died at the scene. The crash report notes he was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
Banks was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.
