Former Red Sox player Manny Ramirez cancels Dominican parade appearance for family emergency

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Dominican Parade officials said former Red Sox player Manny Ramirez will not be coming to the parade because of a family emergency in Miami.

Ramirez was scheduled to be the grand marshal at Sunday’s parade.

The former Red Sox outfielder is a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

No further information was immediately released.
