18-year-old man found shot on sidewalk dies from injuries
Three people face charges in connection with the apparent murder of an 18-year-old man late Saturday night in Omaha.
Dayton Wenz, 18, was found shot near 34th & Davenport around 11:00 p.m.
Sunday, Police announced the arrests of 21-year-old Jordan Humphrey for second degree murder. Humphrey also faces drug and weapons charges.
18-year old Shuyler Buckingham-Yeoman and 19-year old Alicia Granneman were taken into custody for one count each of accessory to a felony.
According to Omaha police, Wenz was found injured after officers responded to the area for calls of shots fired.
According to court documents, Humphrey told police that the shooting took place during a confrontation.
Humphrey admitted to police that he used a firearm that had the serial number removed, according to court documents.
According to court documents, Humphrey told police he had a quantity of narcotics that he intended to sell. A search of his address later found marijuana, over an ounce, packaged for sale.
Granneman allegedly fled from the scene after the shooting with Humphrey, and allegedly helped Humphrey hide by concealing the vehicle used by Humphrey, according to court documents.
Wenz was taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he later died.
