Two women injured in Kalamazoo shooting

KALAMAZOO, MI – Two Kalamazoo women were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning, police said.

The two women – a 27-year-old and 19-year-old – are listed in stable condition, the Kalamazoo Public Safety said in an Aug. 7 news release.

Police responded to a 3:15 a.m. report of a shooting Sunday in the 500 block of Lulu Street. Police arrived to the scene and located one victim with a gunshot wound.

A short time later, police said a second victim arrived at an area hospital with a gunshot wound. Both victims said they were at a party in the area when somebody began shooting. Both women were hit by gunfire, but their injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

No suspect information was provided to officers while investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.
