MARIETTA — The Kiwanis Club of Marietta partnered with Marietta City Schools for a morning of fun and learning at Henry Memorial Park on Saturday.
A book giveaway in the gazebo welcomed guests, with themed tables surrounding the walking trail for families to visit. The early learning kickoff gave families and their children the opportunity to read in the park, blow bubbles, enjoy popsicles, ride tricycles and play parachute games.
Former Marietta Councilman Philip Goldstein said more than 500 books were given away to children.
Now in its fourth year, Christine Ramirez, director of early learning for Marietta City Schools, said it is about supporting young learners.
“I believe it’s very important knowing that we’re all in it together,” she said.
