PORTAGE MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The final paving project on Romence Rd between Angling Rd. and Oakland Dr. is set to commence at 6 am, Monday, August 8th.
During the repaving, only the eastbound lane will be open, and there will be intermittent flagging operations.
The detour route for westbound traffic will be Oakland Drive north to East Milham Avenue, west to Angling Road and south to Romence Road.
It is anticipated that paving operations will be complete on August 9, weather permitting.
At this time, two-way traffic will be restored.
Portage city officials also announced that beginning Monday, August 8 at 8 AM, the northbound curb lane of Portage Road will be closed to facilitate the installation of a water main north of East Milham Avenue.
Northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of August 2022, weather permitting.
