FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — The Fayetteville Police Department has arrested a man who officers say is wanted for murder in the state of Pennsylvania.

Saturday at about 2:34 a.m., police say they arrested Dehmier Harmon without incident.

He had an active arrest warrant through the City of Chester Police Department, near Philidelphia.

The agency says he was wanted for the murder of Leon Culbreath on Wednesday, August 3.

They considered him armed and dangerous.

When Harmon was found in Fayetteville, City of Chester Police say his girlfriend, Shameeka Thompson, was with him and was unharmed.

Officers say he will be served with a fugitive warrant Monday and has a court hearing scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

They say he is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center and will be extradited back to Pennsylvania.

There, police say he will await trial for Culbreath’s murder.

Additional charges against Harmon may follow, according to City of Chester Police.

They say the incident remains under investigation.
