Father in the name of Jesus, let me enter in this school year with a positive attitude. Don’t let me start it off with complaining because it’s not going to change anything. Help me to be content in whatever I’m assigned to do.
“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” (Philippians 4:1) KJV
Father give me your wisdom so I can teach on a level that all my students can understand, even the ones that are slow to learn. “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” (Proverbs 4:7) KJV
And grant me courage to stand up for what’s right with my students, parents and faculty staff. “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.” (Psalm 31:24) KJV
Father let me have a class this year that’s eager to learn and ready to listen to all the instructions I give them so they can make good grades. “Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.” (Proverbs 23:12) KJV
Father when I start feeling drained, step in and energize me with your strength, so I can make it through today. “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” (Isaiah 40:29) KJV
And when I have to discipline a student, help me to do it with love and let them know this is a part of learning. To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction.” (Proverbs 12:1) NLT
And Father, help me deal with people that make my job difficult, such as messy co-workers and disrespectful parents. In moments like theses Father, help me to step back, take a breath and pray. “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” (James 5:16) NLT
Father, I need your peace at all times for without it, I will lose my mind. Especially on days when I have to keep asking my students to be quiet or break up fights in the bathroom. “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.” (2 Thessalonians 3:16) NLT
Father, I need some patience, I find myself trying to do everything on my own in one day. I have test papers to finish grading, my lesson plans are due and my grade cards have to be ready for the teacher-parent meeting tonight. Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised.” (Hebrews 10:36) NLT
And finally Father, “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O lord, my strength, and my redeemer. A-men” (Psalm 14:19) KJV
