We'll likely stretch this Heat Wave, and Weather Alert Days, not only through Sunday, but into Monday, and possibly Tuesday as well. The combination of high temperatures in the mid 90's along with Dew Point Temperatures in the low-to-mid 70's, will make it feel near 100 degrees during the daytime hours away from the immediate coast and islands.
We're currently in a 'Severe Drought' in most of Southern New England, with annual rainfall deficits more than 4 inches. We could use the rain. Most thunderstorm activity will be isolated, mostly inland, Sunday and Monday, with more numerous periods of rain possible Tuesday, as a cold front off to our north and west begins to press down towards the area, eventually pushing through by Wednesday, according to latest Guidance Models.
