FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — As the new school year is right around the corner, a community event is helping students with a pair of shoes.
The Kick-it-Outreach team hosted its fourth annual shoe drive on Saturday for children of all ages to stop by if they were in need of shoes.

Assistant Pastor Edward Thomas touched base on inflation and how a family with several children can feel the impact of back to school.
The event was held at Cary Park and was sponsored by several local businesses. A large crowd lined up and about 700-800 shoes were given out.

Pastor Thomas says it takes the entire Central Valley to make something like this happen.
Seeing the kids smile when they get the shoes is my favorite part.
