Two Indiana state troopers struck on I-80 by alleged drunk driver

GARY, Ind. (WBBM NEWSRADI0) -- Two state troopers were Saturday morning struck by another vehicle in Indiana while conducting a traffic stop on the westbound side of Interstate 80.

Trooper Kay Galvan and Trooper Dennis Griffin had stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The troopers were inside their vehicle with their emergency lights on when they were struck by a silver 2013 Subaru Legacy, according to police.

Both troopers were taken to the hospital for evaluation and released. The driver of the Subaru, Kyle Dickson, 27 was not injured. He was transported to the Lake County Jail where he was arrested with a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated while endangering a person.
