Betty Louse (Lowrie) Kindschi, wife, mother and Nana passed away at the age of 98. Funeral services will be held September 17th at 10 a.m. in the Orlando United Methodist Church. Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater, has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements.

Betty was born April 28, 1924 on the family farm outside Mulhall to Mont and Bessie (Bland) Lowrie. Betty was the 4th child. Betty was preceded in death by brothers Cloyd (AnnaLee), Laverne (Mary Edna), and Virgil (Lorene) and sisters Lois (Chet Sparks) and Maxine (Don Yost). One sister Thelma (Calvin Rutherford) is still living Betty met the love of her life while working in a drug store owned by Dr. Busby in Mulhall, Ok. Dale had come in to see Dr. Busby because of an injury. When Dr. Busby moved to Altus he askedBetty to follow them. She continued working for him until she started working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Dale made many trips to Altus to date our Mom. Dale proposed and they were married November 9, 1945. After 55 years of marriage Dale died from a brain tumor in 2000. Dale and Betty had two daughters Sue (Reece) Hembree and Pamela (Thomas) Steichen. Grandchildren Dana (Lonnie) Green, David (Laurie) Hembree, Adam (Rose) Steichen, Michael (Kimber) Steichen and Kristen Steichen, 12 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Betty was a Sunday school teacher for 25 years. She was a wonderful helpmate to Dale on the farm and supportive mother to her daughters. Later she drove a school bus for 20 years. She loved the children and often dressed up for the holidays.

Betty was famous for her good cooking and especiallyher coconut cream pies! We are thankful forthe wonderful memories.
