It’s almost time to celebrate the 96th annual Custer County Free Fair and this year has a list of exciting events for attendees.

“This will be our 96th Custer County Free Fair September 7 – 10. We will be taking entries the evening of September 7. The exhibits will be judged Thursday afternoon. The livestock shows starts Friday September 9 and the horse show will be September10 along with a barbeque cook off which is for all of the first responders in the county. This year we are dedicating the fair to Don Baker, of Butler, and Darla Lowry, of Weatherford,” Custer County Oklahoma State University Extension Office 4-H Educator Jordan Nel said.

Custer County citizens and students will be able to show off their skills as crafts, plants and art of any kind can be entered into this year’s contests.

“This is the first show for a lot of the kids in the county. This is a great opportunity for our 4-Hers to show what they have been working on also. It also gives anybody in the county the opportunity to show off their crafts or what they have been making or growing,” Nel said.
